MDOpen Active Connection Panel for VS Code
The MDOpen Active Connection panel is activated once a connection to an MDCMS instance is established. The panel primarily shows the menu with all visible options, along with filters for those options.
The panel can additionally display the following views: * Option History View - last used options * MDOpen Outline View - the outline for the source code that currently has focus. * MDOpen Search for Options - filter the menu folders/options by a text value
The views to display in the panel can be toggled on and off by clicking the ... icon at the top-right of the panel.
MDOpen Active Connection View
This view is a tree of all visible menu options and defined filters for those options.

MDOPEN ACTIVE CONNECTION - the root of the menu tree
connection row - this consists of the connection nickname - host name - environment instance @ user ID (nnnnnn) whereby nnnnnn is the number portion of the MDOpen job that is started on the IBM i partition.
The job is submitted to the job queue defined in the MDCMS Job Settings parameter MDOpen/MDWorkflow Job Queue.
The Job name is MDRP followed by the nnnnnn shown on the active connection row.
Under the connection row, the menu folders and options are displayed.

Hover over the MDOPEN ACTIVE CONNECTION title to see the following icons:
Disconnect
Click on this icon to disconnect the current connection. This will close the Active Connection panel and the Connections panel will be opened again.
Settings
Click on this icon to open the MDOpen extension settings page.
Help
Click on this icon to open this page in the default browser.
Icons on the Connection Row
Hover over the connection row to see the following icons:
Manage Hidden Options
Click on this icon to open the view that lists all currently hidden options.
Click on an option (or a filter for the option) to open the view for that option.
Hover over a hidden option and click the Show Option icon to make it visible in the Active Connection view again.
Refresh
Click on this icon if you want to refresh all of the options and filters in the menu tree.
Collapse All
Click on this icon to collapse all the folders and options in the tree.
Disconnect
Click on this icon to disconnect the current connection. This will close the Active Connection panel and the Connections panel will be opened again.

Hide Option
Click on the Hide Option icon to hide the folder and all options in the folder. Hidden folders/options can be used or made visible again from the Manage Hidden Options view (available as an icon on the Connection Row)

QuickSearch
The most commonly used list views have a QuickSearch feature that allows the user to bring up a specific element in the list very quickly.
For example, click on the QuickSearch icon for MDXREF Objects and enter the name of the object you wish to analyze. Additionally set the application, level and 1st in Libl Only checkbox to further filter the list and the next time QuickSearch is used for that view, the parameters other than the Object Name parameter is pre-populated.
Open in Persistent Tab
Click on this icon to open the view in a new tab, rather than replacing an existing tab for the same view. Also, the persistent tab will not be replaced automatically when another view using the tab is opened. This is helpful with multiple views of the same type need to be opened concurrently.
Edit Visible Columns
Click on this icon to modify the order of defined columns for the view as well as to hide/un-hide specific columns in the view. This is helpful to have the most important columns for your use first and to hide unnecessary columns for better focus on the critical information.
Create Filter
Click on this icon to create a single-use or reusable filter for the view prior to optionally opening the view. All views that present a list and contain editable filter fields will have this icon enabled.
Hide Option
Click on this icon hide the option. Hidden folders/options can be used or made visible again from the Manage Hidden Options view

Hover over a filter definition for an option to see the following icons:
Open in Persistent Tab
Click on this icon to open the view in a new tab, rather than replacing an existing tab for the same view. Also, the persistent tab will not be replaced automatically when another view using the tab is opened. This is helpful with multiple views of the same type need to be opened concurrently.
Copy filter
Click on this icon to create a new filter definition with the initial values based on the selected filter definition.
Delete filter
Clicking on this icon to initiate deleting the filter. A delete confirmation popup window will appear.
Confirming delete with Yes will delete the filter. Clicking No will cancel the delete action.
Edit filter
Click on this icon will open the filter edit window. You can edit the values of the filter and save it. Also the filtername can be changed while editing. The filter will be saved with the new name if changed.
MDOpen Option History View
This optional view lists the most recently used options (or filter definition of an option) in descending order. The number of entries to display can be defined in the MDOpen Settings.
Enable/Disable the view by using the ... icon at the top right of the Active Connection panel.
MDOpen Search for Options View
This optional view allows you to quickly filter the option menu by the entered text. There are a lot of options in MDOpen and sometimes it can be quicker to search for an option using this view rather than scrolling through the whole menu.
Search Filters checkbox - set to true if the result set should be any filter names that contain the entered text string.
